A nifty little graphic plug-in

Oddly enough, the first post on this SEO blog has nothing to do with SEO or monetization…

Golfing at Grand Island - 10th TeeI use WordPress for a handful of sites, so I’m always on the lookout for handy plug-ins.  I found this one today and just had to share it.  This is a plug-in for WordPress that makes any linked image have an on-page zoom effect, rather than just a simple link to the image.  Click the image to the right to see what I mean.

This is accomplished using a plug-in built around the “FancyZoom” script.  It’s a standard WordPress plug-in, though it does require one minor template edit (changing the “body” tag in your header).  It’s about a two minute install and it does a great job.

The plug-in can be found here and the original FancyZoom script can be found hereHere is another live site that is running the plug-in.

Very easy, very slick, and free.  Gotta love it!

    In your wp-content/themes directory are all of the themes that you have loaded. Inside of the folder for your active them is a file called “header.php”. Inside there replace text that says “<body>” with the code provided.

    Hola again;
    It is simply amazing and it works well, but:
    I was used before the Lightbox plugin (im not sure if you know that)- a Picture with a grey Outline.
    At this time i can use the FancyZoom OR the lightboxplugin. Mhh; There is a possibility to use both ?

  6. Mickey Says:

    I don’t think there is any way to use both, as they use different effects to load the image. If someone knows otherwise, please let us know.
